If there is anything positive about Comixology merge to Amazon it was sending me looking comics from elsewhere. I wouldn’t have found Universe! By Albert Monteys without it. I am not sure what this is but it is amazing. Volume 1 contains first five issues of the comic. Each issue has standalone story which are or are not connected to each others. I am not sure. There are some connections but I don’t have any idea if those lead into anything.
It is 34th century. Technology is amazing but humans are still humans. Each issue has clever and sometimes weird science fiction concept it studies. Albert Monteys has deep understanding of what he writes about and he goes experimental with his art. I wasn’t so sure about this after first issue. Idea felt good but more could have come from it. After second issue I was sold. Each issues feels different.
Universe! is for you if you want your science fiction to be about great ideas. Can’t give you examples because that would spoil the fun. I have no idea where this is going. Each story works on its own. Fourth issue probably work better if you have read previous issues but other issues work as standalone issues. There might be some connection to these stories in future. But I don’t know will this have future. It is on going in Panel Syndicate but latest issue (sixth) was published 2018. Even if there won’t be another issue what is there is worth reading.
