I have watched this video way too many times. This video made me think of early chain reverb. Currently I have Digitech Supernatural just before distortion pedal. It gives pretty interesting sounds before distortion. Haven’t put velcro under it yet. I feel like putting velcro is to commit to keeping it on board. I don’t like what I get from it that much yet. Supernatural has bit too much modulation and it sounds bit too much old digital when distorted.
So I am looking for another reverb. Main requirements are true bypass and mix knob that goes to 100% wet. You wouldn’t guess how hard it is to have both on same pedal. Supernatural has both. 100% wet is not something normal people want but true bypass is rarer on reverbs than I expected.
I want one reverb which can do first two of his three early chain reverb duties. Transformer would be nice but I can live without it. Transformer needs 100% wet. If I give that up only requirement is true bypass. So far I have found only two reverbs with true bypass that I think will work as early chain reverb. Not having true bypass is not such an issue if you don’t have pedalboard or have switcher which put only pedals you are using to signal chain. With pedalboard I want true bypass.
Previous post I was considering putting one delay early on signal chain. I did it and now having two analog delays on board make sense. Still need to learn how to use early chain delay properly.
