Another word I had to google. Without googling I would have drawn something completely different. I know tomorrows word. I don’t know if scallops make pearls but there it is. I am starting to remember how to draw black and white drawings. Maybe I am getting better at this. Drawn with Clip Studio Paint.

I almost forgot to Inktober today. Got too much into music stuff. Might write more about that later. I tried to draw bats but couldn’t make anything I liked enough. Then I got this stupid idea. I have seen others using color but I want to challenge myself with using only black and white. I think it is closer to original spirit of Inktober. Using real ink and pens would be too but I don’t have those. So again Clip Studio Paint.
Seems like I will be posting lot this October. Managed to finish The Complete Stories of Sherlock Holmes. First time I managed to get few hours into it. Yes I listened it as audiobook. Almost 71 hours long audiobook. It should have every Sherlock Holmes story Arthur Conan Doyle wrote. This time I benefitted from modern history binge I had before starting this. I knew some of the background. Without that I wouldn’t have made it. Not that the stories are bad but I thing you should know something about the world.
World was quite different back then or it is just writing of these stories. It is weird how criminals just start to confess everything they have done after Holmes have put pieces together. I don’t think logic was Arthur Conan Doyle’s strongest asset. Stories are told as books written by Watson. So everything in these stories are published in world of Sherlock Holmes. In his books Watson tells how he and Holmes are unknown primary suspects of murder and who the murderer was. Murderer who he wants to protect. Or how they let one killer to escape because they thought his actions were justified.
Shortest stories were better than longer ones. Study in Scarlett and Valley of Fear had long sections in America without Holmes or Watson which felt out of place. Binging this was bit of a mistake. You start to see patterns by the end. Holmes’ deductions start to feel far fetched after about 60 hours.
I have to confess. I didn’t know what the word meant. Had to google it and check dictionary. This is the idea I got when I saw Finnish translation of the word. Not sure if something was lost in translation. I didn’t have reference. Had to remember how to draw human body and scale of the body parts. Probably have to check them somewhere later. Haven’t drawn without reference for a long time. Should learn it again. Reference just make things faster.
This got me back to techniques I used earlier before I started to do most of shapes with colors. Also got back to familiar brush. Yesterday’s drawing was done with brush I used first time. Wanted to try it and thought it would make drawing better. It didn’t. I used Clip Studio Paint.
My adventures in experimental music continue. I used 0-Coast, Prophet Rev 2 and some DAW magic. Song had another title but I think this sells it better. Won’t write too long this time. There is Inktober to participate.
It has begun. Inktober 2022 I mean. Not sure how many of these I draw but at least I started. I didn’t plan to participate this morning but first and couple other prompts were interesting. I used Clip Studio Paint but not digital aids it has. Only undo and deleting layers. No erasing or modifying vector layer after drawing. This is probably the first time I tried to do something completely black and white. It was hard to figure out what to do without colors when I normally make shapes with colors. First drawing is terrible but I hope I get better during Inktober.
